There are 19 active free zones in Turkey. As of 2022, approximately 90,000 people were employed in these zones. In 2023, employment in free zones reached around 100,000 people, while exports increased to approximately $13 billion.
Free zones are established to promote export-oriented investment and production, accelerate foreign capital and technology inflows, secure cost-effective and stable input supplies for the economy, and maximize the benefits of foreign trade and financing opportunities.
